A PASSION FOR RACING, A LEGACY IN DESIGN _

Speed, competition, and the relentless pursuit of excellence have always been at the core of Brett King's journey. From BMX and motocross to mountain biking and karting, anything with wheels and a finish line became an obsession. Yet beyond the thrill of racing, there was a fascination with the details—the gear, the graphics, and especially the helmets.

At 15, while racing motocross, the desire for a custom-painted helmet took hold—one that mirrored those worn by the sport's legends. However, in Western Canada, options were limited, and professional custom paintwork was out of reach. Encouraged by his father, Martin, a skilled body shop painter, Brett took matters into his own hands. Armed with spray paint and a basic airbrush, the first helmet design was created—an experiment that quickly evolved into a lifelong passion.

What began as a personal project soon turned into customizing helmets for friends, then local racers, and eventually professional athletes across multiple sports, including motocross, BMX, and hockey. The reputation grew, leading to designs for factory BMX teams like GT, Powerlite, Haro, Mongoose, and SE Racing. From local tracks to the international stage, Brett’s work was gaining recognition.

This passion for design and innovation eventually led to an opportunity in Southern California, stepping into the world of corporate branding and product design. Taking the lead on graphics, design, and corporate identity for what would become Felt Bicycles, Brett served as Creative Director, gaining invaluable experience in business, marketing, manufacturing, and global distribution—insights that would later shape his own brand.

Through every stage—whether racing, designing, or building a company—the drive to create something extraordinary remained constant. Every Brett King Design helmet, graphic, and product embodies that pursuit, merging world-class craftsmanship, style, and a deep connection to motorsports culture.

The phrase, "Do what you love for a living," is often repeated, but for Brett King, it is more than a saying—it’s a lifelong passion that continues to push the boundaries of motorsport design.
