Q : WHY CHOOSE BKD ?

A : All helmet paint is not equal. What you receive from BKD is the highest quality product available in the industry, coupled with the most cutting edge designs in the motorsport world. Our product blends a distinctive original style, with an unmatched attention to detail and quality.

 

Q : CAN YOU SPONSOR ME OR GIVE ME A DISCOUNT ?

A : As much as we would love to help out everyone with a deal, please understand that this is simply not possible. We are a company that produces and sells premium products and services, and as such we must charge accordingly. Please refrain from asking for deals or sponsorships in any form.  This includes group-buys and promises of bringing us more work from your friends. If you respect our quality, artwork, products, and services that we offer, please respect our pricing as well.

 

Q : WILL YOU DESIGN A HELMET BEFORE I COMMIT TO GETTING MY HELMET PAINTED WITH BKD ?

A : We take pride in the originality and quality of not only our painting but our designs as well. We believe it is our meticulous and creative approach that sets us apart from the rest, so we only offer helmet design work to our customers that commit to having us paint their helmets.

 

Q : HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING AN ESTIMATE FROM BKD ?

Q : WHAT HELMETS DO YOU SELL ?

A : We offer Arai, Bell, and Stilohelmets. We also offer accessories for your helmet from Racing Radios, HANS posts, and helmet care products.

 

Q : CAN I USE MY OWN HELMET ?

A : Yes, if you already own a helmet you may choose to use that for your design. However, we do feel that starting with a brand-new white helmet always produces the best results.

 

Q : CAN I PAINT A HELMET THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAINTED ?

A : Yes, this is possible. If you do wish for us to re-paint your helmet, a refinishing fee will be charged. For the current refinishing fee, please see our pricing under the Custom Paint page. We cannot paint black rubberized helmets unfortunately.

 

Q : WILL YOU DUPLICATE WORK FROM OTHER HELMETS ?

A : No. If there is a particular design that you like, we can create something similar but we will never duplicate. If there is a nostalgic helmet replica you would like, such as Ayrton Senna’s, we will make an exception and remain true to the original artwork. However all helmet replicas are subject to approval.

 

Q : WHAT TYPE OF PAINT DO YOU USE ?

A : We exclusively use HOUSE OF KOLOR® paints for the best in durability, quality, color, and shine. HOUSE OF KOLOR® is the number one brand of custom paint in the world. It is the best of the best.

 

Q : CAN I ORDER COLOR SAMPLES ?

A : Yes, you can. We encourage you to order color swatches so that you may be guaranteed you are receiving the exact colors you wish to have on your helmet. This helps to give you peace of mind as well as avoid any potential color miscommunications.

 

Q : WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT POLICY ?

A : Once you have received your estimate and have confirmed and paid your deposit, we are unable to refund you the full amount. If you must cancel your order after we have started work on your helmet, we cannot issue you a refund, as the helmet and paint work must be paid for in full. If we have not started work on your helmet we reserve the right to return 80% of your initial deposit.

 

Q : WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE ?

A :We accept the following forms of payment: Cash, Check, Credit Card, PayPal, or Wire Bank Transfer. *For all International orders we only accept Wire Bank Transfers, which also will include a $30.00 service fee.

 

Q : What is the turn-around time ?

A : Completion times depend on season and workload. The system we use for scheduling is a simple “first come first serve” basis. If you wish to have your helmet by a specific date, this will incur a Rush Service fee, which depends on your desired return date and our workload. This fee varies, so please contact us for the current estimated completion schedule.

 

Q : WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO ?

A : We ship internationally.

 

Q : WHO DO YOU SHIP THROUGH ?

A : All shipments are processed primarily through UPS. For international orders we can also ship USPS, or FedEx depending on your preference.

 

Q : DO YOU CHARGE FOR SHIPPING ?

A : Yes. All shipping costs are paid by the customer.

 

Q : HOW CAN I TRACK MY ORDER ?

A : If you have ordered an item through the Brett King Design website such as apparel or helmet accessories, you are able to track your order via the Order Status tab on our website. If you are looking to track the delivery of your helmet, we will provide you with the tracking number so that you may check the status of your delivery through the UPS, USPS, or FedEx website.

 

Q : WHAT PRODUCTS SHOUL­D I USE TO CLEAN MY HELMET ?

A : We offer various products to maintain your helmet and to keep it clean. We recommend the R3 Racing Rubber Remover for cleaning off oil, grease, rubber, and debris. We also recommend to use the Quick Detail to keep it looking fresh over the weekend, and Spray Wax after the weekend is over to ensure that it shines as nicely as the first day you got it.

 

Q : WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT WHAT I WANT DURING THE PAINTJOB ?

A : This all depends at what stage in the process you decide to change your mind and what it is you wish to change. You may be charged for any additional work that must be done to accommodate the change you wish to make.

 

Q : WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY ? : We stand behind everything we sell. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will accept the return or exchange of unworn, unwashed or defective items, within 30 days of purchase. Returning helmets that are purchased off of our site will incur a 20% restocking fee. Shipping and handling fees are not refundable. Our guarantee does not cover ordinary wear and tear or damage caused by use or accidents.
